2021 Fund Day Complete From Wilderness Ridge

A full-field competed at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club on Monday to support the Founders Scholarship and our junior golf initiatives, Each year, NWAGA members gather for this event that is bigger than golf. Fund Day represents a common goal across all NWAGA members, to support and grow the game of girls golf. All proceeds from this event go towards the Founders Scholarship, Nebraska Girls' Four-State team and the Youth Development Committee.

The following teams were the winners of their respective Flights.

Flight 1 - Marion Bendon, Felicia Hutnick, Jeanine McKeone & Sarah Nordlund

Flight 2 - Jessica Graner, Barb Grandfield, Sherri Monson & Eunice Palu.

Flight 3 - Amy Bear, Kay Bowman, Kathy Garrelts & Shelly Liddick.

Flight 4 - Carla Anderson, Sue Palmer, Mary Jo Warren & Patti Weiss.

Flight 5 - Linda Cogley, Stacy Drake, Susan Pallas-Duncan & Mary Ann High.

A special thanks to Wilderness Ridge for the wonderful hospitality. As always, the course was in phenomenal condition. Thank you as well to all the ladies who competed and contributed towards the growth of junior girl's golf in Nebraska.

Entry Deadline: 5 pm CDT on August 9, 2021

Entrant must be a member of NWAGA or a female member of Nebraska Junior Golf. Entrant must also be a resident of Nebraska (see below) with an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index® issued by a “member club” of the Nebraska Golf Association. All players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the United States Golf Association and The R&A.

An individual is considered a resident of Nebraska if they: a) maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or b) are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or c) are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or d) are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college. If these criteria are in question, the NWAGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.

Limited to 30 teams (120 players).

All sides must file an online entry application. Entry fee of $360 must be paid by every side. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NWAGA is notified (402-505-4653, ext. 103 or via e-mail at before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of medical condition, if requested before the first day of competition. No refund for any reason after that day. A $60 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Entry includes 18-holes of competition; cart; use of the practice facility; prizes and player awards luncheon on Monday.

Entries open at 8 a.m. CDT on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Entries must be received by NWAGA no later than 5 p.m. CDT on Monday, August9, 2021. If the competition receives more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on July 1, a drawing will be used to determine the field and wait list order. If the tournament does not receive more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on July 1, the field will be determined by order of entry. Entries may be accepted after the deadline, if field is not full, at the discretion of NWAGA. Partner substitutions may be made prior to competition.

Caddies are prohibited.

Players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. Traditional spikes are prohibited. Model Local Rule G-7.

Each flight will award merchandise prizes to the top three finishers. All ties will be broken by a scorecard playoff.

Fund Day scores are not acceptable for posting purposes.

Shamble. All team members tee off and the best drive is selected. All golfers play their own ball into the hole from the selected drive (must use at least two drives from each player). For scoring purposes, the two best net scores on each hole will be counted. 85% of Course Handicap (Maximum Course Handicap of 40). Four separate flights will be determined based on Team Handicap (August 9 Handicap Revision).

Following the tournament deadline, flights will be determined and pairings and starting holes will be released.

There are no practice rounds available for this event.

Due to the many hotel options in Lincoln, there will not be a reserved block of rooms for this event.

Each player is required to check-in before play on Monday.

Sides are permitted the use of a shared cart (two players per cart) at Wilderness Ridge.

Practice facilities will be open at 9:30 A.M. on Monday. Practice following play each day is prohibited.

Restrooms will be available in the clubhouse and on the golf course.

Wilderness Ridge Golf Club will be available for other food and beverage service each day of the tournament.

Players will be required to use the USGA TM application (available on iOS and Android app store) which will serve as their Official Tournament Scorecard. Verification of scorecards will be done verbally following the round. Information on using the USGA TM application will be provided in advance with tutorials posted to the NWAGA web site.

To prevent gatherings there will be no public scoreboard. A scoreboard may be accessed via the USGA TM application and/or the NWAGA web site.
