Stec, Westering Take Home Four-Ball Crown
Beckie Steck and Amy Westering of Grand Island fired a net 61, 12-under to take home the Low-Net honors at the 2021 NWAGA Four-Ball. After a round one net 69, 4-under, Stec and Westering found themselves two back of the eventual Low-Gross Champions, Abbie Eggleston and Hannah Hunke of Snyder. A strong finish in the final round propelled the team from Grand Island to hoist the Four-Ball trophy.
In the Low-Gross side, Eggleston and Hunke hit the ground running in round one with a 70, 3-under, including birdies on Nos. 12, 14 and 18. The golf course fought back in the final round and Eggleston and Hunke finished day two with a 76, 3-over. With an even total of 146 across the two days, the team from Snyder was able to hang on to Low-Gross honors by one shot over the 2020 Low-Gross winners, Shelly Liddick of Bellevue and Lisa Mayer of Valley.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE, FOOTWEAR
Players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. Traditional spikes are prohibited. Model Local Rule G-7.
Any first place ties for overall gross, overall net and net flights will be determined by a scorecard play-off using the following method as recommended by the USGA.
Scorecard Play-Off Procedure:
The winner will be based on the best score for the last round. If the tying sides have the same score for the last round or if the competition consists of a single round, the winner will be determined based on the score for holes 10-18, holes 13-18, holes 16-18 and finally the 18th hole. If there is still a tie, then the last six holes, three holes and final hole of the first nine holes will be considered in turn. If the round is less than 18 holes, the number of holes used in matching scores may be adjusted. For net competition, handicaps will be applied the same as they were for the competition.
NWAGA will post scores for handicap purposes.
The tournament will consist of 36-holes of Four-Ball stroke play (both gross and net). In Four-Ball, two players compete together as a side, with each playing their own ball. The side’s score for a hole is the lower score of the two.
Based on July 6 Handicap Revision. An individual’s Playing Handicap is 85% of their Course Handicap. Maximum Individual Handicap Index is 40.4.
A side’s combined Handicap Index will determine round one shotgun starting position with the lowest combined Handicap Indexes starting on hole 1. For the final round of competition, sides will be grouped by round one net score with the leading sides starting on hole 1.
Practice rounds will be available at a time convenient to Indian Trails Country Club. Practice round rates are $45.00 during the weekdays and $51.00 on the weekends. Please call the pro-shop at 402-528-3404 to schedule your practice round.
