Principle Rules Changes for 2008
The United States Golf Association in conjunction with the R&A in St. Andrews, Scotland interpret and maintain the integrity of the game by improving and revising The Rules of Golf and Decisions on the Rules of Golf every four years. The latest version went into effect Jan. 1, 2008, with the next revision taking effect Jan. 1, 2012. Link here to visit the principle changes that are now in effect. State Stroke Play Championship and Eastern Stroke Play Entries Now Open
Omaha - Stroke Play Championship entries opened, April 30th. This year's Championship will be held at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island June 9-11. Entries for the event will close on Wednesday, May 28th.

Entries opened on April 24th for the NWAGA Eastern Stroke Play Tournament to be held June 2-3 at Southern Hills Golf Course in Hastings. Eastern entries close on May 22nd.

Rathje named 2008 NWAGA P.J. Boatwright Intern
Omaha - The Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association has named Johnna Rathje of Broken Bow, NE as the 2008 P.J. Boatwright Intern. Johnna will graduate from Wayne State College in August with a double major in Sport Management and Business Marketing and a minor in Exercise Science. Johnna was a four year letter winner on the women's golf team at WSC. Rathje has now begun work with the association. This position is funded by a grant from The United States Golf Association (USGA) Foundation. This program was established in 1991 to create job opportunities for individuals with a career interest in golf administration, and to assist regional and state golf associations in conducting tournaments, junior golf activities, membership services, and other office responsibilities.
