POHLMAN IS NWAGA PLAYER OF THE YEAR

NWAGA has announced that Omaha's Jane Pohlman is the organization's 2023 Player of the Year. Pohlman finished atop NWAGA's season-long point standings, reserved for NWAGA members, and based on results in gross divisions of NWAGA tournaments and Nebraska Golf Association Championships.

Pohlman tied for runner-up honors at the Nebraska Senior Women's Amateur Championship last month at Platteview Golf Club in Bellevue. After tying for first, Pohlman and Omaha's Susan Marchese were topped by Anne Robertson of Columbus in a three-way play-off for the senior title. Pohlman was also runner-up in the Tournament Division of the Nebraska Women's Match Play Championship in June at Happy Hollow Club.

Pohlman partnered with Kim Anderson of Omaha to finish third at NWAGA's Pinehurst Tournament at Oakland Golf Club and finished fourth in the Tournament Division of the Nebraska Women's Amateur Championship at Fremont Golf Club.

Although not included in NWAGA's point standings, Pohlman's season was highlighted by winning the 2023 Women's U.S. Hickory Open by one shot at Inwood Country Club in Inwood, NY.

The NWAGA Player of the Year Award was created in 2021 when the Nebraska Women's Player of the Year Award transitioned to the Nebraska Golf Association. Shelly Liddick, formerly of Bellevue, won the NWAGA award in both 2021 and 2022. To access the point system and standings link to the Point Standings section under the Competition tab.
