Six Girls Set to Compete at the Country Club of Missouri
OMAHA (June 28, 2020) – NWAGA has announced the six girls that will represent Nebraska at the 52nd Junior Girls' Four-State Matches, which will be conducted at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, July 1-2.
Nebraska's team includes five returning members from last year's team that cruised to the title at ArborLinks in Nebraska City. Nebraska earned 11.5 of a possible 12 points to win the first Four-State played in the new match play format. The team will gain be captained by Lincoln's Stephanie Kolbas, with Grand Island's Kelli Jeffries serving as her assistant.
The competition features a round-robin match play format between teams from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Foursomes matches open the competition on Wednesday morning, followed by Four-Ball matches in the afternoon. Singles matches conclude the competition on Thursday morning.

Danica Badura, Aurora— Badura is a three-time Four-State competitor. The graduate of Aurora High School is headed to play at the University of South Dakota in the fall. Badura was the 2019 Nebraska Girls' Golfer of the Year, and the 2019 NWAGA Player of the Year. She's coming off a win at the 2020 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship a couples weeks ago.
Lauren Thiele, Wahoo— Thiele is back on the team for a second-straight year. She'll be a junior at Bishop-Neumann High School this fall. Thiele won the 2019 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship and was the runner-up at the 2019 Nebraska Women's Match Play Championship.
Kaitlyn Hanna, Omaha— Hanna is also making her second appearance. The soon-to-be junior at Omaha Westside High School won the 2019 Nebraska Girls' Amateur Championship, and is a two-time NSAA Class A Girls' Golf Champion.
Nicole Kolbas, Lincoln— Kolbas joins Badura as a three-time team member. She will be a sophomore at Lincoln Pius X High School, where she finished T2 to Hanna at the 2019 Class A Championship. Kolbas finished runner-up to Badura in the 2020 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship.
Baylee Steele, North Platte— Steele returns from last year's team, when she won all three of her matches. Steele plays for North Platte High School and will be a senior this fall. She's finished in the top 10 at the NSAA Class A Girls' Golf Championship each of the past three years.
Emily Karmazin, Elkhorn— Karmazin is a first-time member of the Nebraska Girls' Four-State team. She'll be a junior at the new Elkhorn North High School this fall. Karmazin made the semifinals of the 2020 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship.
