2020 Founders Scholarship Winners

OMAHA (April 20, 2020) – NWAGA has announced its 2020 Founders Scholarship Recipients. This was the first year NWAGA increased the amount of scholarships awarded from five to 10.

Anna Kassmeier, Norfolk— Anna will graduate from Norfolk Catholic High School in May. Kassmeier was a member of the girls’ golf team and participated in several other activities including basketball and softball. In the fall, Anna will be headed to University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is planning to study Exercise & Health Science.

Chloe Herbert, Ft. Calhoun— Chloe will graduate from Omaha Marian in May. In addition to golf, Herbert was the President of Marian Students for Life her senior year. In the fall, she will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln and plans to study Elementary Education.

Emalie Wightman, Omaha— Emalie will graduate from Brownell Talbot in May. Wightman was a member of the varsity golf and basketball teams all four years.  Her junior year, she won the Nebraska Writing Poetry Project contest. In the fall, she will be attending Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Emily Gustafson, Holdrege— Emily will graduate from Holdrege High School in May. She played in the NSAA Class B State Championship three of her four years.  Academically, Gustafson was ranked highest in her class. In the fall, she will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln and plans to study PGA Management. 

Hannah Goltl, McCook— Hannah will graduate from McCook High School in May. Throughout high school, Goltl played golf and tennis. She also participated in Teammates, a program for mentoring the youth.  In the fall, she will be attending McCook Community College and plans to study Law.

Madeline Ketcham, Ogallala— Madeline will graduate from Ogallala High School in May. Ketcham earned varsity letters in both tennis and golf, with a top-10 finish in 2019 Districts. She also is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. In the fall, she will be attending Hastings College with plans of studying Criminology and Spanish.

Ryanna DeVries, Ogallala— Ryanna will graduate from Ogallala High School in May. DeVries earned varsity letters in golf, band and track, among others. She finished in first place in accounting at the Best of the West Business Invitational. In the fall, she will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln and plans to study Accounting.

Sydney Erickson, Pierce— Sydney will graduate from Pierce High School in May. Erickson was a member of the varsity golf team all four years and qualified for the NSAA Class C State Championship every year.  She also was the National Honor Society president this past year. In the fall, she plans to attend Doane University to study Business & Communications.

Tiffany Carnahan, Fremont— Tiffany will graduate from Fremont High School in May. Carnahan received Academic All-Conference awards her sophomore through senior year. In the fall, she will be attending Doane University to study Biology as well as compete on the women’s golf team.

Tory Land, Fullerton— Tory will graduate from Fullerton High School in May. Land was involved in golf, volleyball and basketball during her four years. She also assisted in flood relief following the March 2019 flood. In the fall, she will be attending Central Community College while studying Dental Hygiene.
